ELARA VOSS
Winner, 2024 Goldsmiths' Craft & Design Council Award
Winner, Goldsmiths' Craft & Design Council
"A work of unnerving restraint. The stone does not sit in the metal — it is held by it, as if the gold remembers being liquid."
The jury cited the piece's refusal to resolve — a ring that holds the moment of transformation, neither fully molten nor fully set. Awarded in the Precious Jewellery category, one of 34 entries considered.
Every commission begins at a scarred wooden bench under a single warm lamp.
Molten metal and rough-cut stones. Heirloom diamonds reset in forms their original cutters never imagined. The bench holds the memory of every piece — a palimpsest of fire and intention.
Clients include private collectors, gallery curators, and editorial houses. Each commission is singular. None are repeated.
Wallpaper* Handmade Issue, International Edition
"Voss maps something cartographers cannot — the interior geography of grief and its transmutation into form."
Selected from 200 international studios for the annual Handmade feature. The piece toured the Saatchi Gallery before entering a private collection in Zürich.
Permanent Collection, V&A Museum, London
"The Heirloom Series asks what it means to inherit — not objects, but the weight they carry. This is wearable archaeology."
Acquired by the V&A for the permanent jewellery collection following the 2023 Collect fair. One of three contemporary pieces acquired that year, alongside work from Naomi Filmer and Jacqueline Ryan.
